Roxio sells software for discs and video. Roxio Creator burns and copies CDs and DVDs, rips audio, and converts video files between formats. Related Roxio tools move footage off older media, such as VHS tapes or discs, onto a computer file, using a capture device where the job needs one.
Burning a disc and converting a file are different jobs inside the same family of programs. A converter changes a video file the computer already has. A tape-capture product needs a player and a capture device connected to the PC, which are not software. The product page states which of those the box includes.
Creator is aimed at Windows. Older Mac disc tools under the Roxio name are a different product. The system requirements list the Windows version and whether a disc drive or a capture dongle is required.
