Paragon Software sells disk and file-system tools for home and business. Hard Disk Manager handles partitions, backup, and recovery on Windows. Other Paragon products let a Mac read and write NTFS disks, or move data off a failing drive. Each job is a different program.
Partitioning and backup are not the same action. Changing a partition can remove data if the wrong disk is chosen. A backup is a copy that can be restored later. The NTFS-for-Mac driver is only for connecting a Windows-formatted disk to a Mac, and it does not back that disk up by itself.
The product page states the operating system and whether the license is for one computer or for a technician. Rescue media, when the product includes it, has to be made before a disk fails if it is going to be useful.
