Malwarebytes sells anti-malware software for Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS, plus a browser extension. It scans for malware and unwanted programs and can remove what it finds. Some plans add real-time protection, and some add a VPN. Those are edition features, listed on the Malwarebytes plan comparison.
A scan on a Windows PC and an install on a phone use different downloads. The browser extension blocks sites and ads in that browser only. A plan that includes a VPN is a different subscription from the scanner alone, so the plan name has to match what was paid for.
Updates to the detection data are part of an active license. The product is meant to sit beside or instead of another antivirus, depending on the edition, and the install page states whether it replaces the existing one or runs next to it.
