italki is a language-learning marketplace. A learner books a one-to-one lesson with an independent teacher, by video, in the language they want to practice. Teachers set their own price, their times, and whether the lesson is a structured class or a conversation.
The site covers a wide set of languages, including widely studied ones such as English and Spanish and many others. A community area exists for written practice, separate from a paid lesson. The teacher’s profile shows the languages they teach, their rate, and reviews from other learners. italki handles the booking and the payment between the learner and the teacher.
A lesson is only with the teacher who was booked, at the time both sides confirmed. Packages of lessons, when a teacher offers them, are described on that teacher’s profile, not as a single italki course.
