Contabo is a German hosting company. It rents virtual private servers, dedicated servers, and object storage. A customer picks a configuration, then installs an operating system and runs their own sites or applications on that machine.
A VPS shares hardware with other customers and is sized by processor cores, memory, and disk. A dedicated server is the whole machine. Object storage is for files, not for running an application by itself. Contabo’s order page lists the location of the data center, the traffic included, and the price period.
The customer administers the server. Contabo provides the machine and, on its site, support for the account. Choosing a data center region close to the people who will use the site matters more than the headline core count, and that region is part of the order.
